     Pet Portraits

Our fur-babies are the best, right?? Pure love!

Why not capture some of that love in a lasting portrait?

Mabel

I began painting pets with my firstborn beagle, Mabel. Her fur was black and white, but the wild, expressive colors better reflected her soul.

Friends saw Mabel's portrait and asked me to paint their pets, then their friends saw those portraits and did the same. Next thing you know, I've got a niche.

Painting pet portraits brings me a special kind of joy -- getting to share the bond we dog and cat lovers have with our canine and feline children. Why not immortalize your furry best friend?

How Does it Work?

  • First, you provide a photo, or several, of your fur-baby. If you haven’t got any you like, I can send you instructions on how to take a great photo of your pet on your cellphone.

  • Tell me a bit about your pet’s personality. Goofy mutt? Distinguished pure-bred? Lazy senior? Perky pup?

  • If you like, I can include some meaningful object, such as a favorite food, toy or blanket. And I’m happy to accommodate color scheme requests.

  • Then, you choose the size. Prices start at $300 for 12x12” or 11x14. Shipping is free.

  • 6-8 weeks later, I send you the finished portrait on 1” deep, gallery wrapped canvas, ready to hang on your wall.

  • Digital drawings are another way to go if you’re looking for something more modern and whimsical, as well as quicker (about three weeks), and less expensive ($200 for .jpg only).

Whether you want a memorial of a pet who has passed on or a record of your new pet when they were just a puppy or kitten, a custom pet portrait is a great way to celebrate your beloved dog or cat (or hamster or iguana or goldfish…)!
